Brief History
Kairos is established in September 2016 and responsible for organizing various theological diploma and certificate programmes. The main purposes of the Kairos is to popularize theology studies and equip students with the critical ability to dialogue with the world in theological perspective.
Divinity School of Chung Chi College has been co-organizing a few religious quarterly courses with the School of Continuing Studies of the Chinese University since 1974. In 1986, a one-year Certificate Course in Theology was launched. Since 2006, this programme has been upgraded into “Diploma Programme in Theology”. From 2015, these programmes have further been revised to “Certificate Programme in Christian Studies” and “Diploma Programme in Christian Studies”. Activity
Biblical and Theological Conference for All
For the purpose of popularizing theological studies, Kairos will organize a conference for outstanding students in certificate, diploma and degree programmes to present their papers at the end of each academic year. Besides students' sharing, scholars will be invited to present their paper in the conference to increase the atmosphere of academic interaction. It is aimed, by giving the opportunity to share, both students and the audience's critical thinking ability, and the understanding of Divinity School of Chung Chi College's philosophy will be enhanced.
